Paul and I decided to attend the Sunday service at church this week because after being through so much in the past 10 days we really needed some extra time of prayer besides the constant praying we've been doing in our minds at Peters bedside or at home. Our church has been so good to us, we had so many members reach out to us through email and after the service and it's truly touched our family's heart to have such a wonderful parish.
So after dealing with Peters horrible nurse last night Paul called in the morning and got an update that Peter is doing great, all his X-rays and blood tests keep coming back excellent and they've begun weaning him from the breathing machine and over the next 48 hours they will continue until he's off. But that wasn't even the best news, they took out 3 chest tubes that were draining from surgery and they increased his feedings from 5ml per hour to 12ml per hour. The last thing they did was remove a wire that was in his umbilical line.
Now the next plan of action is to be removed from the breathing machine in the next 48 hours. Its hard to believe his surgery was only 3 days ago and how much progress he's made in this short amount of time. We are so proud of our little baby boy, he is so strong.
