1 month baby well appointment

Last night we took Brandon and Peter to see the doctor for their separate appointments.  Brandon just had a follow up from his asthmatic episode 2 weeks ago and Peter had his 1 month baby well check up.  This was also the first time I got to break out the double stroller.  Brandon loves the double, mostly he loves to climb in and out and take peaks at his little brother.

Peter weighed in at 7lbs 15.1oz, his weight is in the 8th percentile, but he did not have a normal 1st month of life.  In 6 days he gained 6 oz (180grams).  Now that he's taking the bottle he is gaining 1oz a day, which is slightly above average for a newborn.  I am sure he will start gaining, but his doctor said he will be on the small side for a while because that's just the way cardiac babies are.  Peter's height is 20 inches, 1 inch longer from when he was born, that puts him in the 4th percentile for his height.  His head circumference is 14.5 inches, 1 inch bigger from birth, and that is the 19th percentile.

It's so weird having 2 babies at opposite ends of the percentile charts.  I remember Brandon was out of newborn clothes by this time and in 3 month outfits, Peter is just so small he still wears newborn and I'm sure he'll wear 0-3 months next because he's just so skinny. But Paul and I can already tell that he is starting to get some fat on his limbs, his skin is no longer sagging and his color is improving.
Other than just getting him fattened up life is wonderful.  Our family is adjusting to the addition, but so far it's been wonderful.  Peter is an amazing sleeper, but after he eats he is super gassy and lets us all know, but after getting all the gas out he falls asleep very fast.  He loves to be sung to or "shhhhhhed" softly in his ear.

We are so blessed to have him home.
