a few things that I now know that I did not know before.
1. Birth is not as fast as movies and TV make it seem. I thought that it starts and Ashley needs to be at the hospital quickly or else. (or else what? I don't know but the threat was there.)
FALSE: it actually is a slow process with very definite phases.
2. My idea to save on diapers by turning them inside out is not as brilliant as I once thought. One day though...
3. Ashley likes to be scratched under her belly. Perhaps this is a pregnancy symptom.
4. After Ashley gives birth, she will go back to her appearance at about 6 months. I never really thought about this. All the celebrities go back to their pre-birth bodies so quickly, so I assumed that was the norm. Apparently, not as easy as that.
And there is even more that I am clueless about when it comes to babies. Like, at what age should they be talking, walking, crawling? How do I know if their crying is serious? And so on. We have books but I constantly think that I am going to miss something. I guess that is why I have Ashley (she is the one that put the kibosh on my inside-out-diaper revelation).

Don't think the diaper idea has legs. With regards to knowing about walking talking and crawling, the answer is - some time between 6 months and 6 years. He will do them in his own time. One friend told me the baby should crawl before he walks otherwise he won't be a good reader. -- go figure. You will learn about crying very quickly. Babies excel at non-verbal communication.
