move update

Just to keep it at the top of the blog I wanted to let everyone know I updated the baby registry with a couple new things.  46044954 is our registry number and our address is updated so if you search for us by name I am the Ashley Kelly in Springfield, VA, it also says my due date is 4/28/2011, well we all know Brandon will be 1 year old by then I was forced to pick a date since most people make registries before the baby come!  A lot of gifts bought already were sent to grandma and grandpa Kelly's house, but we'll get them as soon.  We're really lucky to have such wonderful family to shower Brandon with lots of love and presents

BIG NEWS!!

We're finally in our own house.  Yesterday we got our bed delivered so the house was ready to be slept in.   This past week has been a whirlwind of shopping and searching for furniture all while sitting in the empty house while Brandon and I wait for the cable and gas man.  Imagine entertaining a 5 1/2 month old in a empty unheated house...it's not fun.

But now that it's over we are so excited to be living in the house.  We don't have are furniture yet, so we ended up buying a card table at Sams club with some folding chairs and we just play on the floor with B anyway.  What we do have is an awesome 46 inch LED TV.  Paul was like a kid last night while setting it up.  He refused to go to bed until the TV was set up.  The hardest part was getting the TV on the stand, you had to slide the flat screen into these little grooves and then screw them on.  Well it took Mr. Engineer over 45 minutes and me 2 trips to home depot and radio shack to get screw drivers to get the thing together.  But our culture shock had us LOVING America because at 9 at night we could go to the hardware store to pick up a Phillips screw driver.

Our new TV is awesome, so far I haven't been able to enjoy any of my favorite shows, but I can tell you Nick Jr. has never looked so crystal clear.  I think Brandon is excited to be able to watch some TV.

After Brandon watched some cartoons he and Mama took a morning nap, only my nap turned into a 3 hour event.  But my amazing hubby decided to let me get some rest and played downstairs with B until I woke up.  I all honesty I could have slept all day.  With all that is going on it takes a lot of caffeine to keep me up all day with no nap.  But once I woke up we continued our search for a new sectional sofa. We dropped by a furniture store Paul bought his first couch Marlo.  We had great luck here and found a sofa that we didn't have to wait 6-12 weeks for.  This is what we got, with an additional wedge to create the sectional sofa look, but we love that they can be separated if we decide later on we don't like the sectional idea.

Tomorrow our air shipment is going to be delivered to the house!  I can't wait, it's been 3 weeks since it was taken from our house in Rotterdam, it should have only taken 2 weeks, but the moving company was a little slow with getting back to us to schedule a date.  At one point they also said it wasn't in the warehouse when we knew it was.  But hopefully all of those headaches are behind us and we'll have a good amount of Brandon's things, high chair, Quinny Buzz stroller, clothes, bouncy chair, and more clothes for Paul and I.  We only packed for 2 weeks, so I have been doing laundry at the hotel and now at laundromats.

Our new home does not have a washer/dryer.  The landlord has arranged to have a new one installed next Saturday, so in the meantime I plan to get a wash and fold service to take care of that.  I can not wait for the day when we don't have to wait at the house all day for the delivery or service man to come to our house.  My schedule is filled with staying home 8-12 or 12-6 waiting for deliveries.  So if any you want to chat you're more than welcome to call me!  If you don't have my cell phone or house number send me an email and I'll get it to ya!
