Bad Carma

To recap the car selling incident (and we shall never speak of it again).  We lost the most important paper. which allows you to transfer the title of the car to someone else.  The other papers are not that important compared to this one.  We found this out on Saturday when we tried to transfer the title with the new owners.

I was in a panic because my biggest fear was that we would be stuck with this car, no where to put it and would have to delay our departure.  I went to the Main Office just outside the Hague in Zoetermeer on Monday morning with Brandon in hopes to get the paperwork immediately.  We got there just as they opened and they told me they don't do the paperwork there but in a different office.  They could fill out a request for a new set of registration papers, call it to this other office, and have them mail it that day to me.  This means I would get it Tuesday or Wednesday or maybe later.  This was too much risk for me, I really didn't know how reliable the post was.  But this was the best the woman could do for me, so I agreed.  She called the other office and they said that if I was willing to pick it up in person, they would had it to me that day.

I was excited and agreed, and the woman told me the office was literally across the country, about 3 hours by car.  I needed the papers, so I dropped Brandon off at home with Ashley and the movers, and away I went.  Took me 3 hours to get there, took them 10 minutes to fill out the paperwork, and 3 hours to drive back.

The next day, I met with the buyer, she bought the car, we transferred the title and I walked out of the office with an envelope full of money on the way to the bank.  I was so excited that I had sold the car finally and had a big wad of cash that I forget I left my backpack in the car.  The backpack had all of our important papers, passports, itineraries, medical info, etc.  I sprinted back to the car and fortunately, they were still just playing with the radio and all the other dials.  Glad that is over with.
