Our timeshare experience.

This past weekend we took a trip to Williamsburg to endure a 90 minute sales pitch to buy timeshare in Williamsburg,VA. I'm sure you're wondering why we would go through this? Well a couple days after Christmas I got a call saying I won a contest that I entered at the mall. I was hoping it was the car, but it was not. My name and number was given to a timeshare company. They had a $50 visa gift card for me and a 3 day 2 night stay in Williamsburg,VA. And as a bonus they added a 4 day 3 night stay in Orlando,FL. All we had to do to get these for 100% free was go on the tour. So we loaded the kids in the car and drove 2 1/2 hours for the tour which was supposed to only be 90 minutes. Well it was more like 3 hours by the time we left. The salesmen were crazy. They started their price at almost 30k and by the time we walked away it was down to 4k.

They really try to make you think you need this timeshare. But luckily we stayed strong and kept saying no thanks. Having the kids with us was good too because it kept the sales pitch shorter.

Now that the tour is complete we can enjoy a weekend sometime in the fall or spring (that's our plan so far) for Williamsburg. We are trying to plan Orlando for New Years. We have 1 year to use the travel vouchers, plus it will be easier to travel when Peter can walk, we won't have to bring 100 pieces of baby gear :-)
