Middle of the night hospital run

Last night I had contractions from 6PM until late Sunday afternoon. At first they were 10-12 min apart and I didn't pay much attention but at 10pm they got to 7-8 minutes and by 2:30am they were 5-6 min apart and we used our better judgement and went to the hospital after calling the doctor.

After about 3 hours of being monitored and told to take laps around the labor and delivery wing my doctor said we should go home and wait it out because I wasn't progressing very fast. When we left at 5am I was 2cm dilated and over 50% effaced. This was a big change from Thursdays doctor appointment. Then I was 0% effaced and only 1cm dilated. I knew if nothing progressed They would send me home because I'm just 36 wk and 5 days. If it was 37 wks they would have offered to give me something to speed up the dilating.

Going home was the best thing to do, I almost regretted going to the hospital and getting everyone excited that it might be Peters birthday, but it wouldn't have been good if we waited to long at the house and barely made it to the hospital in time.

I didn't get any sleep last night, but finally around 1:30 in the afternoon I got a 3 hour nap in because my contractions were starting to slow down.

All while this was happening Brandon decided to keep getting out of bed last night, before we left at 2:30am for the hospital he came to our room twice. Then after we left he came again but Nana and Grandpa Kelly took good care and tried to calm him when he got upset that we weren't home. Grandpa ended up sleeping on the floor next to Brandon's bed because he was scared of being all alone.

I really hope this baby comes is week, I'm getting very tired of these strong contractions coming and going. It's been 5 days since they began, sometimes it just feels like labor pains without my belly contracting and other times it's both together. Come on Peter make Mama, put me out of my misery and just get here all ready!
