This morning I had my 36 wk doctor appointment. I was so happy to get to this visit because last night I wasn't feeling quit right. I was having pains like I was in early labor, but they weren't consistent contractions, so in my mind I thought well maybe I'm just dilating or thinning, but I didn't think you could do this without contractions. So I used best judgement and didn't call the doctor because I was seeing her at 9 in the morning and I knew if I did call they were just going to send me to the hospital (and at 10PM at night that is the last place you want to go when you know you're not in labor)
So this morning Paul being the worried husband decided to work from home and drive me to my doctor and ultrasound appointments. I was very grateful for this because when I woke up at 6:30 all I could think of was how sore my inner thighs were and how they hadn't been that sore since the day after Brandon was born. Also by morning my cramping had felt better (it wasn't gone, but not as uncomfortable as last night, it's funny I thought I wouldn't remember the feeling of labor, but the moment it started last night I knew something was up)
At the doctor's office she said everything I'm feeling is very normal and last night I was most likely dilating, which I did (only 1 cm, but hey it's better than nothing!) The doctor did say she doesn't think baby Peter will be here this week, but possibly next week, which would put me closer to guessing his birthday, but you never know things can happen in a blink of an eye.
After the doctor we had to rush over to the building next door and have an ultrasound. The doctors where I am being seen wanted one last sonogram to see how large Peter will be if I go to 40 wks. This little guy seems to be a lot smaller than his big brother. Right now he is measuring in the 52% percentile and is estimated to be 6lbs 9oz. So even if I went to 40 wks he would be a little over 8lbs at birth (but I really hope we can meet him earlier, I'm impatient and want to hold him and give him kisses)
So we are in the final countdown, I go to the doctor every week for a check up and between these appointments I plan on just playing with my Brandon and crocheting PJ's blanket :-)
