I've started to add a couple new things to our daily routine for Brandon and I. We noticed this past weekend while Paul was watching the world cup on Saturday Brandon was watching the TV also. So on Sunday we put Nick Jr. on and he just watched Diego and Dora with is goofy smile and happy noises for a whole hour in the swing. So this week I've continued this and he seems happy with it. Some days he falls asleep to the show and some he stares at the TV for the whole show.
At the end of the day right before Paul gets home Brandon is awake for the longest. Sometimes he gets cranky and the only voice to sooth him is none other than Dr. Phil. Yes I mean the talk show host Dr. Phil. He doesn't even watch the TV just hearing his voice puts him into a calm state.
This week Paul and I have been on a mission to get Brandon a passport photo for Mondays American Consulate appointment. We tried taking our own, but this morning while I was editing the photo it just didn't work. So I took Brandon to a specialty passport photo store that the American consulate recommended. It was so easy. She only had to do a couple photos until we got Brandon looking at the camera with his mouth almost closed She even airbrushed my hands that were holding him up out of the picture. The photographer told me the youngest baby she ever took a passport photo was 6 days old. I can only imagine how hard that is. Brandon slept all the time back then, at least now I know the 1-2 hour periods when he'll be happy and awake.
It feels great to have Brandon on a routine because I feel like I'm getting into one as well. I've been able to practice my opera and exercise on a daily basis. Getting my midsection back into shape is really important, not only for appearance, but to help with my singing.
Now if I could only get Brandon in a routine to not wake up at 6:30AM that would be awesome!
