The 6th Annual Star Kid 8K and 2K Family Fun Run

For those of you who read our blog regularly or your friends with us you know that Peter was born with a treatable heart condition. He had emergency surgery the day he was born and then open heart surgery at 1 week old. The hospital he was born at turned out to have some of the countries top pediatric cardiologists and one of the best pediatric cardiac surgeons in the country. (trust me I saw all their names in top doctor magazines of the USA and Northern VA

So while at peters last visit to get a heart monitor put on for 24 hours to double check everything is still growing normal I saw an advertisement for a 8k/2k family walk run at George mason university which is only 15 minutes from our home. I was intrigued so I rea more and it turns out its to raise awareness and money for the pediatric heart program at Fairfax hospital.

We thought it would be a wonderful idea to walk in honor of our star Peter. The hospital did so much for him so this weekend we are giving back to them.
