It's coming up so fast and of course we are now getting a case of the last minute bad luck. First bad luck was the TV buyer didn't show up for 3 scheduled meetings, in my book you get 3 strikes and you're out! But luckily Paul's boss wanted to buy our TV so she is coming to pick it up today. The worst thing that happened was we lost our Overschrijvingsbewijs (paper proving we own our car) you need this to transfer over to the new owner. So instead of today being the day we sold the car, it was the day I watch Paul freak out and search frantically for the Overschrijvingsbewijs, which he never found, I feel horrible because I think I might have thrown it out a while back because I thought it was an expired insurance paper.
But what's done is done and now we must wait until Monday for the RDW (kind of like the DMV) to open. I've tried to calm Paul with all the scenarios that could happen, the worst is we stay here until we get the paper. The next is they give us a new one at the RDW office Monday or Tuesday OR Wednesday.
But for the next 42 hours I have to keep my husband from driving our car into a canal ( he said he wanted to do it just to get rid of it, he's being rather dramatic today) I'm not sure why I'm so calm in these final days, but I think it's because I went through the moving stress when we came to Rotterdam and I've learned to expect the worse, but in the end it will all get done.
2 more nights in the house. Then 3 nights in the Hilton.
Keep us in your prayers that all 3 of us get on the flight to DC this Thursday. I'll be very sad if we have to stay an extra week
