On Tuesday morning we had a little crisis. As I was putting some cortizone on Brandon to help his dry skin (doctors orders) The cap to the bottle I was using popped off. I wasn't using a normal cream bottle. It was an easy applicator with a sponge on top. Well I guess I squeezed the top to much because it popped off and the cortizone when all over Brandon's face. He cried at the reaction of something hitting his face unexpectedly. I got his clothes and diaper off and jumped in the bath with him and started washing it off his face, he hated that. After I was carrying him around naked in a towel looking for the bottle.
Then read the label "If accidentally ingested contact poison control."
We all know I was cool as a cucumber at this moment. I called 411 to find the poison control number and second guessed myself when I called them for the first time that I dialed the right number. This elevator music started and no one answered the phone. So not trusting Verizon connect I googled the number. They gave me the right number I just wasn't patient enough to wait for an operator. So the next time I called I spoke to a woman who ended up telling me everything was going to be fine, even if Brandon ate the entire bottle of cortizone he would be fine and I didn't have to take him to the ER or do anything special. MAJOR RELIEF.
The next morning poison control called to follow up on how Brandon was doing. He was his normal happy self. I felt soooo terrible that this happened to Brandon, but I couldn't believe how much it shook me and how scattered I was trying to get Brandon dressed in case we needed to go to the ER, find the poison control number, and keep myself and Brandon calm. I just pray we don't have anymore incidents like this. I was so happy the cortizone didn't harm him.
