Two days ago I gave Brandon his first hair cut. It was such an emotional moment for me. I have been holding off on cutting his hair until we got closer to his 1st birthday. But Brandon began to swat his face to get his hair out of the way and since using hair barets for boys isn't socially acceptable my next thought was "haircut time"
Paul wanted to be the one to cut his hair, but I beat him to the job. I went to the beauty supply store and got the proper cutting shears. I didn't think cutting his hair would be that hard. Well I was wrong.
Brandin sat in his highchair licking a yogurt coated spoon and eating some food. While he ate I snipped. After the first cut across the front I thought "oh no what have I done". I thought I would just have to cut the front and be done. But k ce the front was cut he really looked like he had a mullet. So after wetting his hair some more and getting his baby comb I began making small snips on the top if his hair. I've watched enough people cut hair in my life to just try and imitate what they do. My imitation skills worked pretty good. The final product was not perfect, but Brandon was not the most still customer, but he did the best he could. I'm very proud of his new hair do and the fact I didn't cut off an ear or jab him with the scissors.
