We're home!!!!

We decided to cut our stay at the birthing center 1 day short.  Paul and I were excited to get Brandon home and settle in to our routine without the baby nurses and extra help.

So far everything's going well.  I was given orders from the midwife/baby nurses/ hospital staff to take it easy for the next 6 weeks, they told me I'm going to feel back to my normal un-pregnant self very quickly (which they were right I feel amazing!)  but that I still need to rest and recover from labor and delivery.  So no up and down the stairs to much.

Brandon's loving his crib so far!  He slept the whole car ride home and slept another 90 minutes until feeding time.  Now he's all changed, fed and back to sleep.  Now it's my turn to relax and have a meal!

When he was sleeping I was curious to see how much weight I lost since his birth and was amazed.  Already I'm 24lbs lighter, after 3 1/2 days.  I know I have about 20 more to go and if you saw my legs right now you'd understand.  I read that during the end of pregnancy you retain water, but I didn't to much so I thought I was out of the woods.  But apparently you can also bloat up after giving birth and my thighs, ankles, and feet look painfully swollen.  Our midwife said all is okay and that within the next couple weeks or even days my body should un-puff.

At the birthing center I was wearing my pregnancy pajama bottoms, it's funny coming home to my wardrobe of maternity clothing.  My regular jeans are to tight still, but I no longer fit into my largest maternity jeans.  I can also fit into all my old shirts and sweaters!  Everyone I talked to said you're body will bounce back quickly, but when you feel like a whale it's kind of hard to believe that it will ever happen, but I'm happy they were right.  Lets continue with the shrinking!!
