To flu shot or not to flu shot

Pregnant women are at the top of the list to get the seasonal flu shot and this years H1N1 (swine flu) shot. But for some reason I feel very apprehensive about getting either of them. I'm going to wait until next Monday to make my final decision when Paul and I have an appointment with our midwife. But right now my heart is set on not getting any flu shots. I've never had a flu shot before, so I'm afraid of what might happen if I do get one. I'm not scared of getting sick. I know December is always that time of year when a cold gets to me, but I think as long as I am careful I can stay away from sick people and keep myself healthy. PLUS swine flu is not as big in the Netherlands as it is in the UK or USA. If I were living in either of these countries than I'd probably be telling a different story.
